Baseball Recap: Keyser Wins Going Away Against Berkeley Springs

Keyser's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Berkeley Springs Indians. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Tornado needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Landon Tysinger was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Keyser is 2-1 when Tysinger allows three or fewer earned runs, but 8-14 otherwise. Tysinger was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Harr, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Sirk, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Keyser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the victory, Keyser broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-15. As for Berkeley Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season.

Keyser will challenge East Hardy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkeley Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
