Baseball Recap: Medina Christian Academy Find Success

Medina Christian Academy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the St. Martin de Porres Lions get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

D.J. Reidl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Moyers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adam Collier, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

Medina Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Medina Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for St. Martin de Porres, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Medina Christian Academy will challenge Central Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Martin de Porres, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lawrence Upper at 4:00 p.m. on May 7.
