Basketball Recap: Highland Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Highland won the last time they faced Shullsburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Highland Cardinals walked away with a 74-61 win over the Shullsburg Miners. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Miners are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Highland is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.1 points per game. As for Shullsburg, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Highland will challenge Albany at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Highland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Shullsburg, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Belmont at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
