Basketball Recap: Cobden's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cobden needed a changed in momentum after dropping ten straight games and they got it from Natalie Franklin. The Cobden Appleknockers put the hurt on the Northside Baptist Christian Lions with a sharp 48-28 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shawna Burgess, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Cobden's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Northside Baptist Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Cobden and Joppa-Maple Grove will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Northside Baptist Christian, they and Shawnee will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
