Roosevelt vs. Fort Morgan highlights a strong Class 3A schedule.
Much should be decided in the Class 3A ranks in Week 9 of the season, and there is quality among the quantity of the games in the classification this weekend.
Five games in 3A match respective league leaders, with league titles at issue. Most eyes in the classification, though, figure to be on
Fort Morgan on Friday. Only three teams remain unbeaten in the classification, and two will be on display when No. 4
Roosevelt (Johnstown) (7-0) travels to meet the Mustangs (6-0). That one should decide the North Central 3 champion, as well as the top spot in the
CHSAA RPI. They are 1-2, respectively, in the RPI currently.
There are three other games of note involving ranked teams. In Class 2A, No. 21
Eaton (7-0) can all but clinch the Class 2A Patriot League - West crown with a win against
Severance (6-1). A Severance win would likely result in a three-way tie with
Resurrection Christian (Loveland) entering the final week of the regular season.
In Class 5A, No. 7
Ralston Valley (Arvada) and No. 12
Columbine (Littleton) resume their Jeffco League rivalry with both teams positioning themselves for the playoffs. The top game in 4A features No. 18
Dakota Ridge (Littleton) against
Golden. An Eagles victory keeps them undefeated on the season and in the 4A Metro 1 League, while a Golden win forges a possible four-way league tie with a week to play.
