St. Croix Lutheran came tearing into Saturday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the St. Paul Academy-Summit Spartans to the tune of 84-56. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Spartans are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Croix Lutheran pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.8 points over those games. As for St. Paul Academy-Summit, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
