Brimfield came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Farmington Farmers. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Farmers, too.

Brimfield's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sean Crowe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Crowe a new career-high.

Brimfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 17-5.

Brimfield and Farmington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Indians (ranked 175th) will meet Havana (ranked 454th) at 4:06 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Farmington will challenge ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (146 vs. 402).
