 The Neuse Charter Cougars and the Union Spartans squared off in some playoff action  on Tuesday, but sadly the Neuse Charter Cougars had to settle for second. They took a  59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Neuse Charter has not had much luck with Union recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
 Neuse Charter lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Addyson Barefoot, who  dropped  a double-double on 17 points and 16  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Barefoot has scored all season.  Chloe Kozloff was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 17 points and 11  rebounds.
 Neuse Charter's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Union, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record  this season.
 Neuse Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Gates County at 6:00  p.m. Union is on a six-game streak of home wins, Gates County a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
