Baseball Recap: West Branch Comes Up Short

West Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Liberty Comets. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Comets when the teams met back in July of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

West Branch's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for West Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Liberty beat West Branch by a score of 4-2 later that day.
