Somers has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. After both having extra time off, they and the John Jay Wolves will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 8:30 p.m. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but likely not for long.

While Somers had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-23.

Somers' defeat came about despite a quality game from Libby Hochman, who had 12 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hochman has posted in her last seven matches.

Even though they lost, Somers was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, John Jay came tearing into Wednesday's game with seven straight wins dating back to last season and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Engineers.
