Basketball Recap: Riley County Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Riley County challenged Silver Lake on Tuesday. The Riley County Falcons took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Lake Eagles. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Riley County lost, don't look at Brett Hopper. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Webber, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Riley County's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Silver Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Riley County has already played their next match (against Hiawatha), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Silver Lake has already played their next game, a 48-36 victory against Holton on the 5th.
