After losing to Cabrillo the last time they met, Orcutt Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Orcutt Academy came out on top against Cabrillo by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Conquistadores on their court since March 2, 2024.

Orcutt Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.

Michael Arroyo paced Orcutt Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Arroyo got some help from Miles Frantz and his 41 assists. Frantz was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Orcutt Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Cabrillo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Orcutt Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Templeton on the 20th. As for Cabrillo, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Nipomo on the 20th.
