Basketball Game Preview: Janesville Parker Vikings vs. Verona Wildcats

Janesville Parker and Verona are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Janesville Parker Vikings will head out to face off against the Verona Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Janesville Parker is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had to suffer through a 125-95 loss at the hands of Madison La Follette. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Verona has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-67 heartbreaker at the hands of Sun Prairie West. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Wolves are ranked 85th).

Janesville Parker's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Verona, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Janesville Parker took a serious blow against Verona in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 85-52. Can Janesville Parker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
