Avon came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Notre Dame Academy Gators to the tune of 48-20. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Avon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Chase led the charge by rushing for 71 yards and three scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 53 receiving yards. Chase didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made nine total tackles. Evan Blye was another key signal caller, throwing for 251 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Avon will venture away from home to face off against York/Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. York/Pavilion's defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Avon's offense will have their work cut out for them. Notre Dame Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
