Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Takes a Loss

Andrew Jackson Academy and Dorchester Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Andrew Jackson Academy had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Dorchester Academy Raiders 51-19. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, with their most recent loss being a 50-32 defeat last Monday.

Despite the loss, Andrew Jackson Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore McKinnley Beard posted eight points and nine blocks. Those nine blocks gave Beard a new career-high.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Dorchester Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
