Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Riesel's 12th in Last 13 Outings

It's playoff time, and Riesel had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Italy Gladiators 52-37 on Monday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Gladiators are ranked 983rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riesel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points over those games. As for Italy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-12.

Coming up, Riesel will challenge Martins Mill on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Martins Mill sitting on three straight victories and Riesel on nine. Italy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
