Basketball Game Preview: Floydada Whirlwinds vs. Farwell Steers

The Floydada Whirlwinds will take on the Farwell Steers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Floydada's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 19 matchups.

Floydada easily dispatched Post on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Floydada fell just short of Texline by a score of 72-70 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Whirlwinds have suffered since January 10th.

Meanwhile, Farwell really took it to Sudan for the full four quarters, racking up a 94-48 win. The Steers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 31 points or more this season.

Farwell pushed their record up to 25-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.8 points. As for Floydada, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11.

Floydada didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Farwell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win.
