Basketball Recap: Buchholz Takes a Loss

If Buchholz was riding high fresh off their 64-26 takedown of Hawthorne last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats lost 63-41 to the Williston Red Devils on Monday. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2019.

Despite the loss, Buchholz still got an impressive performance from Taylor Booth, who posted 16 points. That was a full 39% of the Bobcats' points, marking the third time in a row Booth has scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Barr, who put up eight points.

Buchholz moved to 3-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Williston, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Buchholz will be playing at home against St. Johns Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Williston, they will venture away from home to face off against Tampa Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
