Softball Game Preview: Gladewater Bears vs. White Oak Roughnecks

For the second straight game, Gladewater will face off against White Oak. The Bears will venture away from home to take on the Roughnecks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gladewater has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gladewater is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 16th on Tuesday. They lost 14-5 to White Oak.

Katelyn Pugliese stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Bailey Childress was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

White Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Gladewater, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
