Volleyball Recap: Buhler Falls Short of Mcpherson in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Buhler can now relate to. They fell just short of the McPherson Bullpups by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bullpups this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on October 14th.

Emerson Waldren paced Buhler's offense, picking up 14 kills. Waldren also shared the team's lead in assists with Rorey Waldren: they picked up 14 each. Emerson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Buhler and nudges their season record down to 15-24. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 39-2 Clay Center (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 89.9% over those games). As for McPherson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season.

Buhler has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Hayden on the 31st. As for McPherson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Clay Center on the 31st.
