Baseball Recap: Parma Wins Going Away Against Vision

Parma barely beat Vision the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on Vision with a sharp 12-1 win on Saturday. The Panthers have beaten Vision the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Vision has come to flipping the script.

Danner Osborn made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Parma is undefeated when Osborn posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Cole, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Parma's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Gabe Mullins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Parma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Parma's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Vision, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Parma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vision, they will square off against New Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Vision's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilgrims have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
