Baseball Recap: Goshen Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Goshen walked away with it. They came out on top against the Concord Minutemen by a score of 5-0 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the RedHawks in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won three in a row.

Kyan Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Goshen's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 8-12 when he doesn't). Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Rapp, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Braxton Cline, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Goshen's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.

Coming up, Goshen will face off against Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
