Softball Recap: Boulder City Beats the Meadows School for Their Third Straight Victory

Boulder City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The Meadows School Mustangs a 16-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Payton Rogers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Baylee Cook was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Hayden Nordstrom, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Boulder City pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for The Meadows School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
