Baseball Recap: Apple Valley Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Apple Valley had won five straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 17-5 to make it six. They never let the Hesperia Scorpions get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That's two games straight that the Sun Devils have won by exactly three runs.

Not much got past Beau Lloyd, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Hesperia off the board. Lloyd has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Reveron, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Padilla, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Hesperia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Hesperia's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristen Vanpool, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apple Valley will head out to square off against Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sun Devils are facing the Burros at the right time seeing as the Burros are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hesperia, they will venture away from home to face off against Sultana at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sultans will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Scorpions surely won't give up without a fight.
