Volleyball Recap: Alexandria's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Alexandria and Cherokee County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Alexandria had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Valley Cubs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Alexandria took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 15-5.

Alexandria's defeat ended an 11-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 35-7. As for Cherokee County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 44-8-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Alexandria nor Cherokee County have any future games scheduled.
