Soccer Recap: Central Davidson Takes a Loss

Central Davidson lost against Oak Grove back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Central Davidson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Oak Grove are ranked 97th).

This is the second loss in a row for Central Davidson and nudges their season record down to 9-5-3. As for Oak Grove, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6-2.

Central Davidson didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Ledford on the 16th. As for Oak Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Bishop McGuinness on the 16th.
