Reed Laird posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
