Baseball Game Preview: LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers vs. Sycamore Spartans

The LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers will take on the Sycamore Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

LaSalle-Peru took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Boylan Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cavaliers have posted since March 22nd.

Meanwhile, Sycamore entered their tilt with Woodstock North on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Thunder 12-1.

Sycamore pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for LaSalle-Peru, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

LaSalle-Peru beat Sycamore 8-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
