Volleyball Recap: Somerset's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Somerset won the last time they faced Chestnut Ridge and Elly Fletcher did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles blew past the Lions 3-0 on Thursday with plenty of help from Fletcher, who had four aces and three digs. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Somerset was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-11, 25-18.

Somerset was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chestnut Ridge only served six.

With the victory, Somerset broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 18-4-1. As for Chestnut Ridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13-4.

Somerset has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mountain Ridge on the 29th. As for Chestnut Ridge, they will square off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
