Volleyball Recap: Crown Point Bulldogs vs. Lake Central Indians
If Crown Point was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of La Porte last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Lake Central Indians by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Crown Point wouldn't go down easily and took Lake Central into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 17-25, 23-25, 15-8.
Mikelangelo Brutto paced Crown Point's offense, picking up nine kills. Brutto were helped by Brayden Schopieray and Aiden Matthews, who contributed nine assists each.
Crown Point's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Lake Central, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
