Baseball Recap: Skyline Find Success

Skyline barely beat Arcadia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Skyline Coyotes' pitchers stepped up to hand the Arcadia Titans a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Skyline got a great performance from Easton Leon as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Leon has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zane Vander Linden was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Grant Taylor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Arcadia, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Skyline and Desert Mountain will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Arcadia, they will host Desert Sunrise at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
