Baseball Recap: Canyon Springs Takes a Loss

Canyon Springs scored first but ultimately less than West Valley in their game on Saturday. They lost 9-2 to the Mustangs. The Pioneers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Canyon Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JJ Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Johnson hit this season.

Canyon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for West Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Canyon Springs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-5 loss against Mater Academy East Las Vegas on the 8th. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Elsinore on the 9th.
