Basketball Game Preview: Wesson Cobras vs. Franklin County Bulldogs

Wesson hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wesson Cobras will square off against the Franklin County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-28, which was the final score in Wesson's tilt against Jefferson County on Monday. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Franklin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Port Gibson. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Waves 11-6 in the first quarter.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wesson, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Wesson couldn't quite finish off Franklin County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 30-27. Can Wesson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
