Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Pima's Winning Streak

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Pima finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the Miami Vandals. If the Roughriders were looking for revenge after losing 9-8 to the Vandals when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pima saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bivianna Vega, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Vega has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

With the loss, Pima broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7. As for Miami, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Pima will face off against Benson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.76 runs per game on average), something the Roughriders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Miami, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-2 win against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on the 12th.
