Preview: Masuk Panthers vs. New Milford Green Wave
The Masuk Panthers will be playing at home against the New Milford Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Masuk suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. Their rough 63-39 loss to Kolbe-Cathedral might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Masuk has scored all season.
Meanwhile, New Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 71-63 to Newtown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Milford in their matchups with Newtown: they've now lost six in a row.
New Milford's defeat came about despite a quality game from Armani Checo, who scored 28 points. That's the first time this season that Checo scored 15 or more points. Ryan Esposito was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Masuk now has a losing record at 5-6. As for New Milford, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Masuk didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against New Milford when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory. Will Masuk repeat their success, or does New Milford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
