Football Recap: Southmoore Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eisenhower last Thursday, Southmoore came back down to earth. The SaberCats came up short against the Choctaw Yellowjackets on Friday, falling 50-29. The SaberCats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss snapped Southmoore's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Choctaw, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Southmoore will host Northwest Classen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The SaberCats will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Choctaw, they will head out on the road to square off against Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
