Baseball Recap: Sulligent Blue Devils vs. Lamar County Bulldogs

Sulligent had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Lamar County Bulldogs, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-6 on Monday.

As for Lamar County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Lamar County's part, Ridge Brown made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooks Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Brax Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
