Football Recap: Greenwich Country Day Tigers vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats
Greenwich Country Day had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 55th in Connecticut, while the Wildcats are ranked third in Tennessee).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Battle Ground Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaedyn Marable, who threw for 324 yards and six TDs while completing 89.5% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The victory keeps Battle Ground Academy at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwich Country Day will square off against Kingswood Oxford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
