Volleyball Recap: Pacific Ridge Comes Up Short

Pacific Ridge lost against Classical Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Pacific Ridge fell just short of Classical Academy by a score of 3-2. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pacific Ridge took Classical Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-16, 21-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Safin Zaslansky paced Pacific Ridge's offense, picking up 13 kills. Zaslansky got some help from Jake Streitman and his 42 assists. Brecken Armstrong controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Pacific Ridge's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-10. As for Classical Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pacific Ridge and Classical Academy will both be playing Foothills Christian the next time they take the court. Classical Academy will head out to face Foothills Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Pacific Ridge will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
