Basketball Recap: Tomball Comes Up Short

Tomball extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were dealt a 76-41 defeat at the hands of the Heights Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Heights, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.4 points.

Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric (EJ) Beard, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. The contest was Beard's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Eric Ekwegbara was another key player, going 10-for-13 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds.

Looking ahead, Tomball will square off against Westside at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heights, they will face off against Clear Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
