With a playoff win on the line, New Hope rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Yazoo City Indians a 20-0 shutout. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

New Hope is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Yazoo City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: New Hope beat the Indians by a score of 20-0 later that day.
