Vidalia Heritage Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed past the Westwood Wildcats to the tune of 53-14. With the Eagles ahead 32-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jake Adams was his usual excellent self, throwing for 267 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 102 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Dylan Green, who picked up 114 receiving yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vidalia Heritage Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 232 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Another reason for the win was Vidalia Heritage Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Westwood's QB won't forget Wayne Richardson anytime soon given he sacked him 2.5 times.

Vidalia Heritage Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Westwood, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Coming up, Vidalia Heritage Academy will welcome Crisp Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westwood, they will head out to take on David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
