Volleyball Recap: Greeley Central Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Greeley Central challenged Boulder on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greeley Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

Rowan Keller paced Greeley Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Keller got some help from Jonathan Chumacero and his 32 assists.

Tshinciao Spaeth Marulanda had an outrageously good game for Boulder as he had 25 digs and two aces. Those 25 digs gave Spaeth Marulanda a new career-high.

Greeley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Boulder, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.

Boulder has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Cherry Creek on the 19th. Hopefully Greeley Central paid attention to the Panthers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
