Volleyball Game Preview: Fort Zumwalt East Lions vs. Holt Indians

The Fort Zumwalt East Lions are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Holt Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Zumwalt East is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Fort Zumwalt East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Lutheran, who was ranked 13th at the time (Fort Zumwalt East was ranked 25th). Fort Zumwalt East fell just short of Lutheran by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Holt had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Hazelwood West 3-0 on Monday. The Indians not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25, 2024.

Holt never let Hazelwood West on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.

Fort Zumwalt East now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Holt, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Fort Zumwalt East's way against Holt in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Fort Zumwalt East made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Zumwalt East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
