Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Creston

The Gilbert Tigers will head out to face off against the Creston Panthers on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Gilbert sitting on 17 straight victories and Creston on six.

Gilbert barely beat Carlisle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 win last Tuesday. Gilbert's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last 14 matchups.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Creston took on CAM on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 7-0 victory. Creston might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by four goals or more this season.

Gilbert's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those ten games. As for Creston, their win bumped their record up to 16-10-1.

Gilbert took their victory against Creston in their previous matchup back in May of 2017 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
