Soccer Recap: Stevens Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Stevens was not quite Winnisquam's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Stevens came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Winnisquam are ranked 60th).

This is the second loss in a row for Stevens and nudges their season record down to 5-3-7. As for Winnisquam, their win bumped their record up to 5-8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stevens will square off against Belmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winnisquam, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Somersworth at 4:00 p.m.
