Volleyball Recap: Ellie Holland and Cat Nygaard Secure Win for Girls Prep

Girls Prep won the last time they faced Notre Dame and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bruisers put the hurt on the Fighting Irish with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruisers.

Girls Prep never let Notre Dame on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-22.

Leading Girls Prep to victory were Cat Nygaard and Ellie Holland. Nygaard had 17 digs and four assists, while Holland had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Holland has posted over her last six matchups. Catie Nicola also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Callie McCormick and Kaylee Pendergrass certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. McCormick had 14 digs and one assist, while Pendergrass had eight assists and four digs.

Girls Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Notre Dame, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Girls Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Chattanooga Christian on the 28th. Notre Dame has also already played their next match (against Collegedale Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
