Preview: Huss Huskies vs. Forestview Jaguars
Huss has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Forestview Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Huss focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail five more threes than your opponent, a fact Huss proved. They came out on top against Stuart W. Cramer by a score of 59-50.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huss to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Phillips pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Satchelle Pettis, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Forestview suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Kings Mountain, falling 93-43. Forestview has not had much luck with Kings Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Huss' victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Forestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Huss took their victory against Forestview when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 80-60. Does Huss have another victory up their sleeve, or will Forestview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
