Taconic has gone 9-1 against Wahconah Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thunder are taking a road trip to face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m.

Taconic had taken Pope Francis Prep down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Thunder took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Wahconah Regional made sure to put some runs up on the board against Amherst-Pelham Regional on Wednesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Hurricanes. That looming 21-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

The team relied heavily on James Rabuse, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, four runs, and two triples. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dom Marcella, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Wahconah Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Wahconah Regional and bumps their season record up to 5-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Taconic, they now also have a losing record of 5-6.

Taconic couldn't quite finish off Wahconah Regional in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Thunder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
