Recap: Northside Christian Academy Knights vs. Chambers Cougars
The Northside Christian Academy Knights had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They strolled past Chambers with points to spare, taking the game 76-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northside Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyrell Shaw, who scored 28 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Arael Jones, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Chambers' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Patton, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Patton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Maurio Hanson II was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Chambers, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy and Hickory Grove Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hickory Grove Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. Chambers and Hopewell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopewell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Chambers likes a good challenge.
